Excerpts from the journal of a young man's search for meaning

in the post Viet Nam Era...."who took to the road to find out who he was...."

This was written in the form of a novel. Though the characters are real people,

I've given them all different names....

In terms of risk and reward, the year 1974 was the most eventful and tumultuous of my life.

After having been overwhelmed by great misfortune, it took all the persistence and courage I could muster to plunge back into life.

There were no maps. It was all uncharted territory and I could just as easily have not survived to tell, that is, if The Powers That Be were not looking after me.

This story is not only about misfortune but about triumph and good times shared by friends, some of whom who are no longer living, about love lost and found and the era in which it took place.....
